Plain & Clear
An enterprise with a social mission

As a senior editor at Times of Malta for 20 years, I've edited countless stories written by our journalists about the amazing contributions made by voluntary organisations, as well as about the dire situations they work to improve.
I've had a small taste of the social sector myself. Before I started my career in journalism I worked with Hospice Malta. Later, I earned a diploma in social work administration from the University of Malta.
I have deep admiration for the people who work on the frontlines of social and environmental causes. So I decided that when I retired from the newspaper, I would focus on providing them with the benefit of my experience. That day came in August 2023, when I took early retirement.
In my long career with Malta's foremost English-language newspaper, I have gained extensive experience in writing and editing for magazines, newspapers and online. So I'm offering voluntary organisations, charities and other non-profits a service in clear and effective communication, as well as website and newsletter design.
I still need to earn a living, so I'm not doing it for free. But I'm trying to keep my rates on the low side.
Plain & Clear takes the social enterprise model of business as its inspiration. The primary aim of a social enterprise is not to make a huge profit but to make a contribution to society.
